Another weekend is here! I know I haven't been very active this week, but honestly I've been very lazy. Watching lots of anime, Days Of Our Lives, & 2 movies. The movies were Doomsday & Mall Cop. Both very awesome movies! I ended up not making it to the Mistubishi dealership last Saturday though. I over slept cause I didn't turn my alarm on. The alarm was set.. just not on lol. So I had to go today. Anyways.. the main reason I'm updating my journal is cause the winners have been announced for the Think Pink IV contest. I didn't win, but I don't care about that. It was for a great cause, & I enjoyed creating the 5 entries I entered. I did promise Jen a 1 month journal feature to all the winners of her contest. So lets get to the features!

I Don't Wear PinkThe walls are lined with toys, the floor covered by colorful rugs, and the bright blue walls have handprints highlighted by the hopeful sun pouring through windows.  You’ve got a television mounted in the corner of the room playing movies from Happy Disney.  All this is a weak effort to cheer miserable kids up.  Well let me tell you that it’s not working.  This room might be able to distract little kids, but I’m not little.  Did I mention I hate kids?
I shift uncomfortably in the chair nearest the exit.  As soon as Mom’s treatment is done for today I am so out of here.  If I had a fairy godmother I would wish for breast cancer to never exist, but I don’t and I can’t.  Since that day my mom, a single-mother, came home with her diagnosis my life has taken a turn for the worse.
People stare at her, always giving us sympathetic looks or sending us cards.  Sometimes I

My Name is ElaineShe stood before the mirror, one hand placed against the glass. The other held a washcloth to wipe away her mask. She tried to purse her ruby lips, looking like a tease. Wondering what they saw in her, their touch a brutal squeeze.
First came off the eye shadow, her smoky gaze now blue. Then came the pale pink that stained her cheeks untrue. Finally her lips, no longer the shade of blood.  She attempted to pull a smile, but it turned into a dud.
“Will you still loved me?” she asked her own reflection. “Am I still beautiful, or a doll in a collection? Can you see the truth behind my lies? Do you know the reason for my sighs?”
Unable to turn away without an answer, she pulled off her wig, her head shaven from cancer. The tears that pooled in her eyes began to fall. Tracing her face one last time, she received no reply at all.
Wrapped up in a blanket woven with ribbons of pink, she promised herself not to think. Her shoulders shuddered with

Through dusky sunlight.
Beneath it, stir of incoming ocean tide,
Caressing life’s tormented flow.
Diluting, cleansing, gentle current.
Promised hope for fresh new life.
Matured now to stately flow,
My River delta sprawls.
Cleansed, growing, embracing,
Healed and alive.
